How do I insert photos into pm's?

Does anyone know how I can send photos to someone in a private message?
Sorry if this has been asked before, searched but couldn't find anything.

Actually I think you can't. I read it somewhere sometimes ago.

You can't send attachments via Private Message, although you can add a link to a site where you've already uploaded the pics via the Insert Link or Insert Image icons. Best to send a message and ask for email correspondence.

This is v odd, I sent attached picts before and received private messages this week with picts attached but cannot see the paper clip symbol...
