circle next to my name??

What is the little dot next to my name? Why are some people's dots green and others not? I'm not referring to the reputation points...

I asked this question a while back, it means you are online etc...

green = online blue = offline red I think = online but in hiding

Green means you are online.

Blue mean which setting you are offline.

Red mean you clicked you want be invisible in your settings, but are infact online. What's invisible about that? Red is even more visible than green ...

I think when it is red only you yourself see it as red but other people see it as blue therefore looks like you are offline - if you are set as invisible your name has an asterix next to it in the who's online column to the left and only you see that, I have only ever seen my name with a red dot and no body elses even though i am sure many people are set to invisible

Since I am not blonde, can I reply to this post without being accused of being a blondeist? Or is the term unacceptable? Perhaps I should say people of light coloured hair persuassion instead? Anyway, back to reality and to the topic.

To clarify:

Red - You are invisible. You'll see this next to your own name if you are invisible. Mods will also see you online, and they will see red next to you when you are online and in invisible mode. Everybody else will see you as offline (grey)

Grey (not blue) - This user is offline, or they are online but invisible and you don't know it.

Green - This user is online

Invisible users also appear with an * next to their name in the userlist. You'll see this next to your own name if invisible, or mods will see them next to invisible users who are online. Hope that's easier to understand.
