| | | New membership level descriptions?
Maybe it would be fun to have a Swiss-themed membership level nomenclature?
I'm struggeling to think of something that would not be region specific...

Yes I've been thinking about new membership level descriptions as well. (see other posts in this area to see us kicking around some old ideas). Not sure if localised terms would be the order of the day however. One of the goals here is that I'd like someone who has just arrived in the country to feel at home here. We already use a fair bit of German and French terms in our posts, so would like to keep the rest as understandable as possible.
Naturally you've touched on the issue that often faces Switzerland when it tries to unite across the entire country - which terms should we use. Often the solution for the Swiss is use an English term so I guess we should do the same thing
But seriously, if anyone has any suggestions apart from "Junior Member", etc. I'd love to hear them.

ok it is boring but why not do the standard thing:
like newbie, junior, senior, expert or similar terms. You can always do a triple language option:
perhaps for example newbie/ ... /.... translated into german and french too, if there are funny words for those?
At least people will see how experienced the poster is and one can adjust the reply to this.

That's a custom user title which Lob has given himself. Lob is also a moderator which is where he got the rights to change that.

And yes, I have been "entrusted". Look out for a whole bunch of banning orders if you don't agree with everything I say |

Ha I get it, the word broccoli would have the same stem, and it is also a vegetable high in sulphur compounds (which is why the cruciferous veggies are very healthy).
Still, it sounds more like a Harry Potter type connotation to me. Brockle Sort, Hufflepuff etc. |

Ok, well now is the time to finally do something about it.
I have the following proposal.
0-9 posts - Newbie
10-29 posts - Newbie 1st class
30-100 posts - Junior Member
101-250 posts - Member
251-500 posts - Senior Member
501-2500 posts - Forum Groupie
2501+ posts - Forum Legend
There would be a set of little stars (or something) to indicate the rank ranging from 0 to 6 stars for the above ranks.
People with over 500 posts could also use a custom title if they wanted.
Remember that posts in off-topic do not count towards these totals.
Of course I'm open to sensible suggestions to change the titles... Will implement this very soon.

Maaaaannnnnn....i'm getting robbed. just made 'senior member' and now it is back to a lowly 'member'.
I guess once i hit SM it stuck even though some posts were deleted...I assume it was the Iranian 419-er posts.
(EDIT: ouch...now i am back down to junior because of the adjustment...a conspiracy by the man to keep me down...for sure...)
Newbie titles: how about 'Junior Newbie' and 'Senior Newbie'? it is consistant with member title modifiers...and '1st class' just sounds to military like for my tastes.
