..... is it just me or can others see a link when looking at a user profile for the good old "one touch ban and clean" ? Was taking a look at Hannu and the temptation to click it was high. Very high.
Let me see.... CLICK. No, you're still here.

Re: one touch ban and clean?

Even those of us with the magical powers can only use it on new members.
After a few posts it will not work, so you are all safe from us (but not necessarily safe from mods )

One-touch ban and clean

Hi there,

So I just joined the forum recently, and I noticed that next to people's profiles there's a link that says: "One-touch ban and clean".

I have been a bit afraid to touch this link in case it does exactly what it appears to claim it does. Does it really mean that any random user can simply by the click of a mouse button arbitrarily ban any other random user?

Also, that link also appears on my profile. Does this mean that I can automatically also ban myself? What if I ban myself by mistake??

What exactly is this feature, anyone care to explain? Can I click it then?

Thanks.

Re: One-touch ban and clean

Click away! It won't do a thing unless you are a moderator or a spam deputy.

It really shouldn't be visible to all users, but we haven't figured out how to fix that yet... Thank goodness the "SMITE" button didn't go visible at the same time, is all I have to say.

If you click it, it bans and deletes all the posts of that person. Except it doesn't work for you, only for mods and even then, only for newbies who are actually posting from Taiwan and selling iPod touches for $60 by Western Union. So click away old chap.

Yes, every user can randomly delete peoples profiles as they wish. It's only logical.

I've always felt somewhat shortchanged by this feature. It really should be renamed "2 touch ban and clean".

Cheers

I tried it once, the late-night poster offering kitchen refits from a remote location in India...it told me to go to bed
