Does anyone have a working VHS video recorder (player) they no longer need?
I need it to do some transfers of some old VHS tapes, and mine has started eating my tapes.
Needs to be VHS, PAL i.e. European not US, 220V with SCART.
Would collect, preferably in Horgen/Zug/Affoltern-a-A area, or in Zürich, and would bring a bottle of wine as thanks for your trouble...

We have one that you're welcome to but we're in Neuchatel so I don't suppose that really helps you. We would have given it away before we moved if the packers hadn't been a bit too enthusiastic.

I took it to the recycling in Wädenswil a few hours ago.

To be honest the only reason I still have it is because I have been too lazy to get my wedding video copied to a HDD. jrspet and Belgianmum - thanks for all your help and time/effort.
I have just tried it, and unfortunately it in a 'SAFE' mode such that only the remote control can be used. And without having received the remote only the STOP/EJECT button works. :-(
I did have a Universal remote but sold it on EF :-(
It is a NEUFUNK VK602B.

Shame .. defeated by the Pro-Tect Plus™ (Child Lock) Feature. You'll need the remote to unlock it. I hope you will have better luck with Lou.
