| | | 2 pairs of ski's
2 pairs of 180cm old skool skinny ski’s. 1 pair are Dynastar Extremes with Salomon 777 bindings. the others are Head MX5’s with Tyrolia 650 bindings .
Nokia hands free kit. I found this in my cellar the other day, still boxed, the link below shows the kit. I believe the cradles are swappable for the newer phones, so take it and drive safely, legally… and without looking like a borg http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=97860#moreinfo
Pickup:
Mettmenstetten, ZH http://map.search.ch/mettmenstetten
5 mins drive from the Bahnhof.

I'd suggest probably not. Two reasons - one, they look far too long (although it's not easy to tell, I grant you). Secondly, no-one should be forced to ski on old skinny skis. There are a (very) few old school skiers around who stick at it, but they're not really fit for purpose compared with even vaguely modern skis.
I infer from your post that you may be talking about a beginner, although it's not clear if it's for yourself or not, but in any case you'd be doing her a huge disservice trying to learn on these.

Really... should people bin their old Norton's as the Fireblade is a faster bike that's easier to ride?
Skinnies are ok, harder to learn on and not as quick as modern carvers for sure, and they do require a slightly different technique. So if you want to go blazing down the mountain you'll do it faster on mdoern carvers, but if someone on a zero budget, these will get someone on the slopes and having fun... and isn't that what skiing is about?

I hope your skis will find a new owner. I cannot take them. And thanks for explanation. I am still afraid of heights and want to get over it but yesterday realised that mountains are not for me.

A height phobia is definately an issue up a mountain... Good luck with working on that;-)

I ski a great deal & have 5 pairs of skis from the last 3 seasons.
There is no way I would bother with old style skis, the new ones are so much more fun. It's almost impossible to teach someone carving on Long skis as they won't carve below 70kmh.
I have even thrown away several older pairs with less than a weeks skiing on them

But, think that 180's, ideally, are meant for someone taller than the beginner, 160cm person who has so far asked about them.
I wonder if there will be a turn around one day - just as the long surf boards were shunned as new , shorter ones were designed ( and marketed) but now there is a whole culture of surfers who are admired for their skill on the old, long boards.

The moguls were produced by people on shorter skis. Generally long skis will be skidded far more to control speed, also skiing off piste thats now common is much easier with fatter skis.

(mostly) But a beginner would also have trouble with any of that, no matter what sort of skis they have.
Moguls: Oops! No wonder I am not a great skier - I knew the word and skied them well before the modern, shaped skis ever arrived downunder.... maybe we actually head the world. | | This user would like to thank biff for this useful post:

Don't underestimate what the right equipment & instruction can do.

Got a friend who converts old ski's into Adirondack chairs, I'm sure I can get a copy of his plans if you are interested? | | This user would like to thank Markarina for this useful post:
