It seems a shame to throw away all my son's old toys (Soft cuddly animals as well as others) as he doesnt use them anymore.
Does anyone know of somewhere in Basel I can donate them?

Durchgangszentrum ( asylum seeker shelters ) might be keen.

I'm in the same position Martin (having come home with 90kgs of luggage from England after Christmas - 90% for mini-mimi) so would love to know of any places too.

You could start by giving them to the Kinderspital. They have waiting rooms waiting/begging for toys...

Alternatively any of the charities - you would need to decide whether they should be given to a charity that sells or distributes them to those in need.

I also know someone (Basel-based) who often takes supplies on charity runs to areas of the world where a bit of charity is needed. I could ask him if he is planning anything and whether this would be something he would consider.

If your friend does do a charity run then I would also have clothes, blankets and other more useful items that may come in handy.

My problem is finding the time to drop the toys off somewhere without my daughter noticing and having a fit that I'm getting rid of them

We will be in Basel for 8 weeks over the summer with our 3 and 1 year olds. I am wondering if they have any children's resale shops that I might make use of? Does anyone here know? If it isn't obvious, I have never been to Basel!

There should be local Spielware Börse coming up (here in Zug area it's in March). I know that they collect stuffed toys and functioning toys to donate to orphanages in Eastern European countries.
