We have a Krups "old fashioned" espresso machine together with integral milk steamer, to give away.
It is a great machine. 15 bar pump. You fill up the espresso dose (1 or two person dose - means you can choose your own coffee) and hot water is forced through to prepare a really great espresso. There is also a milk frother which works well. Still got instructions too!
We have had this machine for 10 years and never once has it broken down or failed. We have however been seduced by a new machine, which is why I am happy to give this away to a new home. Has just been de-calc'ed too.
Would be an ideal "starter" machine .. to give it a whirl to see if you like being your own barista.

Pick up only at Badischer Bahnhof or Bahnhof SBB, Basel.

Re: Krups Espresso and Milk Steamer For Free Basel
I also have this machine (actually an older model, as it looks slightly different and I've had it around 15 years). It's excellent.
It gathered dust for a couple of years when we bought a nespresso machine, but I left that in my london flat and brought the Krups machine here with me to Basel. I use it a few times a week and it's never gone wrong. Once you get the hang of frothing milk (tip: remove the "easy frothing" attachment and do it yourself; tip2: use a thermometer and heat the milk to 65-70 deg.) it makes perfect lattes and cappuccinos.
It happily pushes the coffee through my beans ground on the finest setting on my grinder.

Exactly! Lost the so called patented Krups "Easy Frother" years ago ... just keep the nozzle near the surface of the milk and you can't fail every time ..

I was given a tin of eggnog when my partner last visited me here, and now I can make eggnog lattes just like Starbucks. Only a bit less sweet. And much cheaper. Yumm!

I would like to get it for our little shared appartment in Zürich. We have a real espresso machine in the group I'm visiting at ETH, and I'm really getting into the process. It would be awesome to have this machine here also.
