Strong cardboard boxes available for moving house or storage

Hi

Have finally had our belongings delivered and our place feels a little more like home. We have however ended up with a large number of cardboard boxes varying in size which I have flat packed. I'm a little reluctant to get rid of them as they will inevitable come in useful for something or someone but due to limited space I can only hang on to them for a short spell. Can anyone make use of them for a house move or storage?
Cheers
Jen.

These things are like gold-dust, now you can no longer get banana boxes, the traditional vessel. This time of year you shouldn't have a problem shifting them: you could even ask for a bottle of good wine in exchange, as these boxes can add up to quite a lot if you have a big move (at around CHF5 each) - and a bottle of wine is always welcome!

If they don't go here, put up a free ad on the ETH website:

Always people on the move on this board.

Jen, since you are giving these away for free I've moved this thread to the "Free Stuff" section of the market place.

Maybe there will be people that take them away. If not - don't sweat it, just put them out with your next cardboard collection. Depending on where you live that means you'll be storing for up to 8 weeks

When I moved a lot of stuff recently I bought a whole lot of packing boxes from a freight forwarder near the airport - wasn't very expensive - just a few francs each. They were boxes for PC monitors - the companies must sometimes make too many of them.

Hey
Thanks for the above. Found out our next collection is December! Will hang on till then if no one picks up. Wine sounds good but I guess the favour to us is gaining space!
Thanks

A sneaky trick is put them in your car and when you drive past an area that are about to do their collection - then add them to someone else's pile In my area we can go to a central collection point for 3 hours every saturday morning if we can't wait another 8 weeks.
