It won't help you today, but get a Sockscription. Blacksocks
They used to just have black socks, so no room for error. Now they have a few different colors (grey, brown, and one version in blue). Sign up for the black, throw out all your present socks, and voila, you can't mess up.

Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but this had me in stitches.
If your cleaning lady is no longer young, please don't blame her. I, too, can only distinguish 'darkish' colours from one another in broad daylight by the window. I, too, have a drawer full of 'pairs' of navy blue/black pairs of socks and I choose between my black/navy blue trousers and jackets purely by the feel of the material.
I read your text out to Mr L and as soon as I reached the 'deep comfortable chair' he burst out laughing. He, too, knows the hazards.
Hope the interview went well.

*phew*
if I NEVER have to go thru that process again I will be happy.
6 random strangers on the panel firing questions at me...
"name three advantages of using us over them?"
"name three process improvements you have instigated?"
"what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?" |

Speaking of embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions, I was walking along Bahnhofstrasse yesterday when I realized that my newly purchased tights had slipped down dangerously almost exposing my behind. I was wearing a miniskirt, thankfully accompanied by a longer jacket. I had to readjust the tights constantly and I think I must have flashed some poor person at some point. |

I'll buy head-lamp so that I can check the colour of all other articles of clothing without waking Mrs. G. 3. In future I won't tell everyone on EF what I've done unless it shows everyone how brilliant I am, because if anything has gone wrong the rotters laugh at me.

It was in "in-house" interview... I only had to go down the hall*, and I was in with the panel for about 45 minutes.
How did it go?, I think well, but I know there area a number of internal candidates for the post.
* down the hall in reality = down the hall, up two flights, across the sky bridge, down one long corridor, wait in the main lobby and up three floors

just ask any woman interviewer. | | | | | Tell them both socks were blue when you left home but one impact of the major solar flare that arrived today was to cause one sock to change colour; you were happy to get off so lightly |

At least it's over, but did you 'sock it to 'em' with your answers?
Fingers (and toes) crossed for a good outcome. |

Fingers (and toes) crossed for a good outcome. | | | | | as above... who knows... I think so...
but get this... one guy on the panel actually snorted/laughed when I mentioned I was from Boston. ( in reply to the "tell us about yourself" question )
I didn't think Boston was THAT funny.
