dressed in the dark.

ok kids, get your shots in now... ( cuz I've got to run to Manor and get some new socks soon ! )

As I have an interview this afternoon I got up early this morning and got dressed in the dark not wanting to wake mrs. G.

clothes are fine, pressed, everything where it should be, but I've just looked at my feet and I've got one blue sock and one green

( and I'm going to strangle our cleaning lady!! )

Best of luck at the interview! I am doing a few of them too, a nerve wrecking exercise, last thing you want is a sock mismatch problem They might think you are creative though

Quite fitting for a multicultural, cosmopolitan organisation such as the UN then

thanks macG

Paddy.. maybe you've hit on something.. maybe I can tell the interview panel blue represents the sea and green the land mass, and I'm reaching out worldwide to the different cultures.

no, think I'll but some new socks instead

Re: dressed in the dark.

Well brownie points for being considerate and not waking Mrs G.

MY OH got up at 5am last week and then put the light on to see what colour his shirt was. I was not amused and to make matters worse when he got home in the evening I saw it totally clashed with his trousers.

At least you've noticed the colour difference in time to change them, my OH wouldn't have (but then he is colour blind).

Good luck in the interview.

Re: dressed in the dark.

My 7 year old got dressed for school last week and I heard him moan that his jeans were far too big.

When went to look, I found he was wearing a pair of my wife's jeans!

At least you're not wearing different coloured shoes, that would be embarrassing!

this in an internal interview and first instructions are "go to the main lobby and wait until an HR rep comes to collect you"

main lobby = deep comfy leather chairs

deep comfy leather chairs = trousers riding up

trousers riding up =

got the pic?

I have small feet and find it difficult to buy shoes with heels. If I find a pair, I often buy more than one pair or in different colours.

So ... when living and working in London, arrived at Judges Chambers for a private hearing (I was representing one of the parties, not in trouble myself) only to look down and see I had one black and one dark green shoe on (I'd been aiming for the black pair).

Good luck with the interview .. take it as a good luck sign

(Still though, wasn't nearly as embarassing as the time Leading Counsel's trouser zipper broke when at a loo break in recess and I was asked (as the then trainee) to "sew him into them" by instructing solicitor.)

Re: dressed in the dark.

meh, socks. Try discovering a minute before the interview that contrary to what you thought, your bra does in fact show through the dress.

(Would be even more akward in your case I guess)
