Private Lottery - Is it legal?

I have been thinking

In Denmark I have this summer house for sale but nothing is moving.

The price has been adjusted several times but since the house is (relatively) big it is a bit more expensive than houses normally are sold for in this specific part of Denmark. I am not really interested in reducing the price even more so I have been looking at alternative ways to cover my losses.

For now the house is rented out through an agency but since they snatch almost 50% of the income, it is not a sustainable solution for me. A house like this left to itself during the long winter requires maintenance etc.

So....I have been thinking about making a lottery with the house as the only prize. A thousand tickets for DKR 1.000 each would make me happy.

However, private lotteries is not legal in Denmark so I was thinking that maybe it would work if I set up the lottery from Switzerland?

It would be legal for a Dane to buy a Swiss lottery ticket (without telling the offical Denmark) win a kilo of fine Swiss chocolate and consequently "buy" a very specific summer house for a very low and attractive price with a secret cash back feature....no....I guess not

Any insight would be helpful or any ideas into other ways to.....yeah whatever really......be creative.

Thanks.....

I believe lotteries are legal if they are authorised. Have you thought of E-Bay?

Sauna: NO.
Hot Tub: YES

Click on "Billeder" and move forward.

BTW: Not referring to your age but glasses might help

Really?

Click on "Billeder" and move forward.

I did. My dear Danish playboy, I'm sorry to say a bathtub is not a hot tub, even if it has deviously positioned jets. A hot tub is located outside of the premises.

BTW: Not referring to your age but glasses might help

Thank you for not referring to my age.

Seriously, it's a beautiful home and the interior is stunning. My real estate knowledge tells me to buy it immediately but I don't have the funds. Good luck!

Who on earth would buy one of your tickets for DKR.1000 just to win a house worth DKR.35000 ????

Roulette offers a better payout and odds.

Roulette: odds 1 in 38.......payout = 38 times

Your crazy lottery: odds 1 in 1000......payout = 35 times

Good luck with that.

An auction ( with a reserve price ) might be an option:

All agencies operates around that percentage. When I signed up with them (this season) they said 37%. However, that number changes when you look into the real fees paid for cleaning, water, electricity etc.

Stuck with them for a full season.

How do you come up with a sales price at 35.000 DKR?

The price tag says 1.095.000 DKR which also is on the web site.

I think this

Gode muligheder for en god lejeindtægt gennem udleje af sommerhuset. Lejeindtægt til sælger ca. kr. 35.000.

Well.....not a real option. Bruun Rasmussen and the broker will not be interested as they cannot find their way out of Copenhagen and if they could, they would leave me with nothing when their fee have been paid.

Yep..."Good opportunities to make an extra income by renting out the house. Income for seller DKR 35.000".....which cover most of the expenses as the mortgage just have been closed for a full year at 0,88 % interest :-)
