| | | (Bern) Who can watch my phone for me this coming Friday (May 4th)?
I have a very important meeting this coming Friday (May 4th) in Bern and I'm not allowed to take any electronic equipment with me. I'm reluctant to leaving it in a SBB locker as I heard many stories about theft from lockers etc. I was wondering, if I could leave it with someone for a few hours. My meeting starts at 10am and it will last for approximately 30min. I'll pick it up afterwards. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Hey there,
I'm sure you'll have offers from people who can watch your phone for you, but just in case could you forward professional calls from your office line to a kindly sole who will double as your PA? Leave the phone at home and enjoy executive life for a day!

G'luck | | | | | Nah, the phone will be off as I don't expect any phone calls, I need it right after the meeting though...so that wouldn't really work. Nevertheless, thanks for the suggestion.

Im curious as to why you are not allowed any electrical stuff with you even if turned off. Is it in a laboratory this meeting?

Excellent advice. I know I am old and decrepit, from a by-gone era, lol.
But honestly leaving the phone at home from time to time may not be a bad idea. When on hols I even leave my laptop at home (would you believe it - and give you all a 'piece of quiet' as my niece used to say).
Hope you find a phone sitter for the day, and bonne chance with the meeting.

I bet I know where you're going. One of my husband's students had a similar meeting in Bern last week. Sadly, I no longer live in Bern and an unable to babysit your phone. Good luck finding a solution.

Doesn't the place you're going to have somewhere safe you could leave it? After all, if this is the rule, surely they should have a small locker area in the building where these things can be left. There must be dozens of people like you that need to leave equipment behind when they visit.

Surely if you are going into a meeting there will be a secretary outside or reception desk where you can leave it.

Are you having us on | | | | | ...there is no suave looking secretary at the reception desk. Thus the request.
