| | | Free Turkey
As I am sure many Americans have done since moving to CH, I bought at 10.5 Kilo Turkey for Thanksgiving only to discover that it does not fit in my oven. I have made room in my freezer but I hate to think of it going to waste. (I am a vegetarian and none of my guests would take the extra turkey.) Would anyone be interested in it? Pick up in Zurich Kreis 1. Thanks!

But don't do it again!

Well probably not the first member to have gone online looking for a fat bird to stuff at midnight so they're probably not alone.

Can't you just cut it down the middle and freeze half?
(genuine question)

I feel for you though I don't fully understand why you, as a vegetarian, bought a turkey in the first place
The biggest turkey I ever had to fit into my (Swiss size) oven weighed 11kg... I had to kick that bird to get it in It turned out yummy all the same.
I think M. Ploymi's idea is pretty good |

It's exactly what I was thinking: a vegetarian buying a turkey??!!
We were invited to a friend's house for dinner, they are muslim, they don't drink wine, and they didn't have any which I respect although with the very good meal she cooked a glass of wine would have been welcomed!

A Thanksgiving nut roast doesn't quite cut it.

Okay, I get that. Especially as I think that the turkey is the only animal that is so freaking ugly that it actually deserves to be eaten |

No, but the OP's post was, hence the reply to yours, that you would be forgiven for not looking for a turkey at midnight....as in its not normal practice to look for a bird at midnight.........never mind

Tom | | | | | This is the first time I have seen people compete on who's bird is bigger than the others. |

I think Paizuri was referring to the time Rapid's post was written, not yours |

OP does not eat meat. I presume, not even if it's divided up into smaller meals...
