The radiation from Fukushima is killing us all

I just want to ask everyone how they think the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant is holding up?

I have been following the humungous 1355 page thread at Above Top Secret forum on this which has been going since the disaster happened last year 2011, and it seems that things are not going well with Reactor 4's spent fuel pool being in a very dodgy state and radiation still being emitted and blown all over the world. In fact all the reactors have problems with radiation leaking into the air and sea.

Radiation is not like chemicals as it cannot be diluted or watered down to make the active ingredients less harmful. Any radioactive isotope hangs around for the length of time it takes for it to turn into another more or less radioactive compound by emitting radiation into the environment. The half-life of some of these radioactive isotopes are thousands of years which means that the number of radioactive particles being emitted by the substance decreases to half in that time.

Currently, there are at least 3 reactor cores melting their way towards the centre of the Earth underneath the remains of the reactor buildings. The japanese do not release information on much of the state of things there and it is speculated (yes, speculated) that there is some clandestine reason why they do not want an all-out effort of help by the worlds experts and scientists.

Although AboveTopSecret.com is in general a conspiracy site, there are some good investigations and knowledge shared by its members on that thread linked to above on the Fukushima disaster.

The Japanese people are going to suffer really horrendously in the coming years due to the radiation they were exposed to and not told about by their government. This exposure has not stopped now either so it is an ongoing danger which is slowly killing and mutating all of them - adults and children alike. Conditions in the exclusion zone around the plant are worse than Chenobyl and the people who once lived there will never be able to return to their homes which have often been in their family for generations. These people are living out of suitcases and cardboard boxes and have lost their jobs and their children are being told that it is OK to play in the sandpits at school. It is not OK at all.

The radiation from Fukushima has been shown to have travelled around the world in the wind and is currently poisoning the seas and oceans around the world too. All of us eat tuna, salmon, cod, and all kinds of fish without another thought and people in Asia eat a lot of seaweed too. Water gets picked up from our oceans and deposited as rain miles from where it was originally. Just because there is no data released by governments of the world does not mean that there is no danger to us all.

You only need one radioactive particle to enter your lungs or your gut for it to start the process of mutating your DNA and the genes of your children. There are already butterflies and animals which are being born with more deformities than in recent years before the disaster and the japanese people are reporting many illnesses which have the symptoms of radiation poisoning such as nose bleeds, listlessness, and an increase in thyroid nodules.

When will the world wake up to how dangerous and stupid it is to have nuclear power when there is no long term storage facility for spent nuclear waste ANYWHERE in the world. (apart from dumping it in the oceans, of course)

Re: The radiation from Fukushima is killing us all

Radiation tends to mutate on the genetic level more than kill - unless you're on top of it.

So it's 'killing' us? Add it to the list.

Next.

Not my problem if you choose to stick your heads in the sand.

What makes you think it is tinfoil hat stuff then? What have I said in the original post which is untrue?

All I am doing is making you aware that it has not finished and is still ongoing.

If you choose to ignore that, then I certainly dont have a problem because I am wearing my tinfoil hat... haha :-)

ROFL: take your pick.

There are so many duplicate accounts on EF, I'm sure there are only three actual members.

This, for starts:

"there are at least 3 reactor cores melting their way towards the centre of the Earth underneath the remains of the reactor buildings"

and this:

"Radiation is not like chemicals as it cannot be diluted or watered down"

Total nonsense.

Are you vegan, by any chance?

Tom

Re: The radiation from Fukushima is killing us all

It's true you guys, radiation is leaking into the sea from Fukushima causing all kinds of weird mutations and the Japanese government and the American government are both trying to cover it up.

This is an actual photo taken from the bay of Fukushima.

I generally take the view that the more someone writes on a controversial topic, the less they actually know about it. It's almost as if they're not sure , but try to convince themsleves anyway.

Re: The radiation from Fukushima is killing us all

Hmmmm tricky,

As much as it is probably just as detrimental to one's health to stress about such things as it is to be exposed to radioactive particles themselves, I can't help thinking that the whole nuclear thing in japan is a bit scary, really

And based on my experience of the Japanese culture they see it as a "duty" to spare people of such emotionally detrimental issues...

Sorry Tom, the cores have left their containments and if you are going to quote me, you need to quote all of it. I said

funny stuff, however facts remain, whether the technical accuracy of the OP is correct or not, Fukushima is still a danger, and we can never trust the media or politicians.

I'm more concerned about slipping on the ice.

At least I can do something to prevent that.

I've been sleeping in my bomb shelter and drinking the wine stored. I'm not sure what's killing me faster: the radiation or the alcohol.
