| I stopped yesterday. Had a look at the threads in the EF regarding the subject and found it very helpful, I am also looking up on the internet all the consequences/risks generated by cigarettes and it does give me a lot of strenght to go on. Just a bit worried about the weight thing... | |

I would suggest increasing your current level of 'cardio vascular' fitness.
(not saying you do nothing now... just step it up)
There are two advantages:
1) you will feel like crap and your lungs will let you know all about it (thus driving you to refrain from the smokes).
2) Any increase in diet associated with stopping smoking will be offset by burning off more calories.
I used to live with a crazy smoking Chemist once before and she reckons that you gain wait for two reasons:
1) you look for something else to eat so you are using your hands rather than holding a durrie with them. and
2) The chemicals in tobacco smoke both supress hunger, and also inhibit the efficiency of enzymes in the small intestine - thus smokers can be skinnier on average.
Try to hang out with more people who don't smoke as well (difficult in Switzerland I know)..... and keep following this thread to follow everyone else for inspiration.
