Important Lunchtime debate - who would win?

So, an age old debate that may have been covered previously, but this is a bit more specific...

Over lunch, myself and 3 friends debated the question of in a fight in a regular ring (i.e. no ice) of who would triumph out of a polar bear or tiger?

Just these animals please, i don't care if you think a yeti could have a unicorn or that a Holyfield could have a Tyson, please stay OT.

What say you?

Polar bear clearly. Thanks for reading.

I think you need to add a poll to this thread...

I disagree, they are slow and cumbersome.

Re: Important Lunchtime debate - who would win?

Tiger would tear a polar bear to pieces. It's quicker, the largest af the cats could possibly equal a polar bear in strength adn it's much faster. It can also inflict damage with all 4 limbs.

I don't see a polar bear pinning a tiger down, but I do see a tiger all over a polar bear.

Tiger to win!

Gooner knows where it's at, the only advantage the bear has is it could bounce off the ropes and jump off the turnbuckles.

Re: Important Lunchtime debate - who would win?

Ok, so no ice, but what is the ambient temperature?
Polar bears are quite fond of frozen cat bollocks, IIRC.

Unless it's one of these white tigers from cold places (assuming the Chinese haven't eaten them all)

Seriously though... from wiki on tiger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger

Quote:
Adult elephants are too dangerous to tigers to serve as common prey, but conflicts between elephants and tigers do sometimes take place. A case where a tiger killed an adult female Indian Rhinoceros has been observed.[

Siberian Tigers and Brown Bears can be competitors and usually avoid confrotation; however, tigers will kill bear cubs and even some adults on occasion.

Re: Important Lunchtime debate - who would win?

Moved to off topic? Disgrace, clearly it states in the sports legend "who will win", bear/tiger fighting is surely a valid sport

Only if you're rich and posh.

That's why poor, common man sports (bear baiting, cock fighting, whatever) were banned centuries before fox hunting.
Until we managed staff the UK government with, er, peasants

Re: Important Lunchtime debate - who would win?

The tiger would win, paws down. Polar bears are slow and lazy, laying about on blocks of ice, swimming about and dumpster diving. No match for an edgy tiger.

You don't exaclty see old Jackie Chan movies where he's fighting Polar Bear style, do you?

You are basing this on a hunch.

Watch some polarbears fighting before hunching.

Lazy... hahahahahaha!
