Was wondering if anyone was going from here as there seems to be cheap flights about? If any one has insider knowledge of hotels there i would also be pleased to know!

Hotels are impossible, I've given up (admittedly I only tried two websites and contacted an agency) but I'm flying in on the day of the match and departing the following morning early, so not too bothered.

Zurich - To the Moscow Airport that begins with S and has lots of "e"s in it.

Circa 1000Euro, I booked directly after the match, only shopped around a bit on Expedia. Eventually booked with Aeroflot.

ok - anyidea how far the ground is from that airport? aeroflot from geneva on monday back thursday is around euro 200! bit more for day trip though...

You need a visa to go for that long. I think the airport is about 1:30 mins from the ground. I'm told there'll be transport available going straight to and from the stadiums.

As mentioned, don't forget the visa. And I think that you need visa regardless how long you are staying. Otherwise NO ENTRY.
There is russian travel agency (Open Up reisen) in Bern that can get you a single entry visa in one day. It costs 390 CHF. I have used them several times. If you have time to wait for visa 1 week it will cost about 100 CHF less.
Only papers you need is copy of the medical insurance, one picture and your passport. They take care of the rest.
They can also arrange for the flight and hotel.

If you are flying to Domededovo airport, there is Domodedovo hotel next to the airport. Maybe not the cheapest (I think that I paid 5000 rubels/night ~ 230 CHF), but it is quite good and 200m from the Airport terminal. It is very convenient for the early flights.

It'd be a miracle if you got the airport hotel for that price for the nights around the final.

This price was last September. It is possible that they have different prices for the final.

i think im flying to the one beginnign with schem so the other one and am presuming they would be quite far apart!

The visitrussia.com website has been updated and now states that as long as you have a valid match ticket (whether in your name or not) this qualifies as a valid visa.

Also, even if you stay longer than 72 hours, provided you are only in Moscow between 17th and 25th May, no visa fee required!!
