Tourist visa process [visiting India]

Hello, Any EU / CH nationals here who were successfully able to apply and get Indian tourist visa? Would be great if you can share your experiences and also the application process?

Though i have done a little reading on the below two websites i am still not clear if everything is done completely online or is it still necessary to visit the Indian embassy in Bern. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: Indian Tourist visa process

wondering if anyone could help me. I am trying to apply tourist visa for few member of my family who have CH and UK passports. I understand how the process works and i have completed filling the application on the Indian visa website. when i perform the last step i.e. proceed to make the payment and book an appointment for document submission the website crashes . I have tried with 3 different browsers all of which are supported by this website and I have been trying this for 3 days and its behaving the same. Is there any one here who works for the Indian embassy or has experience with Indian visas help me? Or should i contact the Indian embassy in Bern are they any helpful ? I have had bitter experiences with the Indian embassy in the UK that's why i am asking this question.

Re: Tourist visa process [visiting India]

Did you look at e-Visa option?

https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html

If you look at Indian embassy website it says VFS handles the payment and the application.

I would say write/call to VFS rather than Indian embassy.

Re: Tourist visa process [visiting India]

online doesn't work meaning i cannot even enter the payment portal because the website crashes way before that, its not about the credit card.

But i found below on vfs website and i will be doing the payment today. Thanks for your help.

http://in.vfsglobal.ch/Bern/tourist_visa.html

Payment by Postal Order: Please review our visa fees and make your payment in favor of "VF SERVICES (UK) Limited" Account Number 60-433764-4 at Swiss Post office outlets or via E-Banking (IBAN: CH89 0900 0000 6043 3764 4). Attach the original payment confirmation or printout with your application and retain a copy of your payment confirmation for your records. All applications submitted at our application centre must be paid for at time of submission.
