Google stock hits over $500 per share

Just read in the paper today that Google stock has just gone over the $500 per share barrier. Darn, and to think that just August of last year I could have bought it for only $85 per share.

Re: Google stock hits over $500 per share

hi,

the thing is I just don't get why. If you look at outside their core search and advertising business they have launched many products in "beta" form but very few of these have ever become products. They are interesting company but I still have a feel that there will be a collapse in that share price. Currently they have 50% of the markt cap of Microsoft which is just lunacy if you compare the revenue and the product range of the 2 companies seems absurd.

Quite true Martin. Although some analysts might be betting that the YouTube purchase and the way Google handled the possible lawsuits that were heading their way from all the illegally copyrighted material that has made YouTube what it is today, could point a way to their ever increasing revenue.

According to the report there are currently only 13 US companies that are worth more then Google - then again it's all paper gain so .... easy come... easy go.

Hindsight accuracy is always 100%.
