Dangerous driving can we do something?

In a few cases I encountered some teenagers doing some stupid things on the highways.

I considered buying a dashcam and recording. But my doubt is could I do something with it if there was no accident at all?.

Other day I was driving on the left lane at high speed and a group of teenagers got in front of me with less then 2m in front of me I complained then they braked the car and gave me the finger.

Say I recorded it could I have done something? I guess not right?

Why didn't you pull back a bit?

Can we assume the teenagers were in a car?
Were you driving above or below the speed limit?
Did you then drive aggressively?

Chances are the recording would have seen you (I presume) "complain" in an aggressive manner (flashing of lights? tailgating?), probably resulting in you picking up a fine too.

Re: Dangerous driving can we do something?

I don't think that 3rd party video evidence is admissible in court for alleged driving offences.

Just stay cool, and move out of the way if they're tailgating, or drop back if they're too close in front, otherwise your dashcam evidence may be required for more serious offences.

Re: Dangerous driving can we do something?

Unless you have another independent witness, not a relative, you are wasting your time going to the police.

How did the teenagers undertake you? Maybe you were hogging the left hand lane, "driving at speed"?

It's your responsibility to predict and avoid traffic pulling out to overtake other vehicles, and if your relative speed had been too high to avoid a collision then it would have been your fault, not theirs.

Yes, sudden braking and giving the finger would be viewed harshly by the police, but so would your 'complaint', in whatever form it took.

Re: Dangerous driving can we do something?

Well I did avoid the crash as soon as they came in front of me I made enough distance. Highlighted them

I was not making the overtake I was on the high speed lane, they just entered the high way moved to the middle then left lane without indicating
in a big move and I had only safe distance for me. But this was just an example to see if a Dash-cam would be worth it. Driving on mountain roads I always find some stuntman.

Anyway I guess I won't spend money on a dash camera. In General traffic here is pretty good. Actually the best so far.

There is no such thing on Swiss Motorways.

There is no "high speed" lane. The left lane is for overtaking. When done with that, get back in the right lane.

One part has already been mentioned (Fish Paste et al). The other part is:

You had no business driving in the left lane to begin with!
The left lane is called "Überholspur" meaning you have no business being there unless you are overtaking, which by your description you didn't.

You'd probably much better spend your money on a theory course instead of buying a dash cam!

Middle lane is for max 90km left lane 130km so it is called High speed lane!
130 > 90

Oh dear, where did you get that idea from? 130 Km/h is 10 km/h too fast.

Re: Dangerous driving can we do something?

This thread is being to sound like the opening line should have read;

"In a few cases teenagers encountered an adult doing some stupid things on the highways."

By your own admission you were blocking the overtaking lane (as well as speeding), so they were forced to cut in front of you to get past.

This is obviously completely incorrect, but I'm just curious as to from where you derived these figures and your named description of lanes and why you believed it to be correct?

..... or were you mistakenly in France or Germany?

Not the case there either.

No, this is just a troll, I think.
