If I hadn't accidentally found myself on a non-stopping train to Sargans yesterday evening, with nothing to do but drink myself stupid all the way to Chur and back again, then I'd be very interested in the offer to which you have so kindly brought our attention.

Unfortunately, it is my intention to never ever drink ever again, ever, so I'm afraid your efforts, for me at least, are wasted.

They wouldn't happen to have Alka-Seltzer on special offer, too, would they?

I have often said i will never drink again, but a week later i have had a beer again, this beer is very good, cheap, and yummy, and you can keep it long until you dare yourself to have another beer:m sntongue:

Oh by the way, is Anker decent beer? Or is it some small crappy branded beer like that you find in Aldi?

I've never heard of it, but this doesn't necessarily mean it's bad!

It is brewed for coop by .......(go on have a guess...)..... Feldschlösschen and and hence imho, tastes just like Calsberg or the the "Normal Feld Lager" only a tad more sour. It is currently brewed at the Cardinal/Feldschlösschen Brewery in Fribourg - the same place that also brews Some Cardinal and Gurten beers. Not Good.

That said, at that price, and if it is served cold enough, and it was a hot day.... I would drink one or 3 ...

It could be worse - the store brand beers you find in Denner or Ottos often come from a contract brewer here in switzerland which cannot even brew crap beer very well....

Two weeeks ago in liquour store there was a special offer 12cans of Feldschlossen for the price just slightly above the cost of 6pack!

Any affort by the local retailers to slash down the prices will make us sloshing our heads and bumping the poles

The question is : Does the reduced price compensate for the fact that Anker is 5% alcohol and 95% concentrated hangover juice?

Don't know about Anker (think I may have tried it and was not impressed). But I do try and avoid Feldschlossen.

In the Coop, they have Oetinger Export (sp?) for less than 6chf for a six pack 50cl. This is a nice beer.

Denner have the Oetinger 'Weisse bier' and recently had it on offer for half price (50 rappen a can), so I grabbed a couple of slabs Denner also has a nice Pilsner that they have on offer every so often, plus the 'original' Bud etc...

I guess Sutter may have the answer , based on 'couple' that she had last night .....

I'll stick my head out and say that the COOP Prix Guarantee "Helvetia" beer in the white and pink cans is very good for the -65 everyday price. I would choose it over Feldsheissen every time. Always a smirk at the kasse when I buy 6x Lefe and 6x Helvetia
