Re: I would like to know your feeling about it

I hate having flies in my room. Bloody nuisance.

I personally like the idea of calling it "flatmate" because it sounds so delightfully British and it's simple. The American version is "roommate."

Re: I would like to know your feeling about it

I'm afraid 'Flyroom' conjurs up only negative images for me.

(Flies, filth, the garbage that comes with a bad roommate situations...)

But then, I'm most certainly not in the demographic group who would be using such a site. So does my opinion have any value?

You might find the type of people you are targeting as potential users of a flatmate finding service would respond differently. Or not. Perhaps you might add some qualifiers/demographics to your research, in order to come up with answers that would be of more use to you.

Good luck with your project.

Re: I would like to know your feeling about it

Call it "roomski" for roommate and in case you want to extend the business of selling skis in the future:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Roomski

or simply call it "flyroy" which it will never be forgotten:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Flyroy

The "Fly room" is perfect provided that you want to sell drones online.

Re: I would like to know your feeling about it

Yes, insects, on a greasy windowpane.
Also "fly by the seat of your pants" meaning: "Decide a course of action as you go along, using your own initiative and perceptions rather than a pre-determined plan", translates into "unrealiable co-tenants".
Also "fly by night", as in: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dicti...%E2%80%93night
And "fly" as in the zip to open trousers.

I can just hear the conversation in the coffee-break.
This is Alan, our new IT guy.
Hello, Alan, have you settled in? Found accommodation yet?
Yes, I'm in a flyroom.

Eek!

Re: I would like to know your feeling about it

It makes no sense to use the word 'fly'.

The word fly makes one thing of flies and also planes, neither of which has anything to do with your flatmate website.

Just call it 'roommate'.

cheers

Besides thinking of vermin, it makes me sing "Pretty fly for a white guy!"

As Olygirl said, 'flatmate' would be the British term, and you could have a cartoon of a flattened but happy hedgehog

Agree - problem is the internet is already flooded with flatmate and roomate.com in various countries, so you will need something else original.
Just saw that almost all terms are taken on the web. How's about bestflatshare.com - seems to still be free.

Flymate makes me think of people looking for a mate to fly with (like on a plane). I definitely don't think of flatshares!

Well I see everyone has the same feeling about it. It suck
but thanks you a lot for your answers

ZuriRollt, I m agree with you, it's better someting more original than roommate.com

Tassadar, apartmate is very good but a bit classic and unfortunaltly already taken

Assassin, haha if it's to share your bed, yes you've better use tinder than flatmate website
