I need one of those. It might stop my thieving colleagues from thieving my memory stick.
I put my memory stick on a big plush horse key chain. It's a) easy to spot in case of theft b) male colleagues will be too embarrassed to take it c) female colleagues know better than to mess with my stuff.

Had to do the same thing with my pens - I got the most kitsch pink ribbon and made a lace on it. I hate pink, I hate kitsch, I hate girly crap, but it beats not having a pen. And my pens are freaking expensive...

I need to check this cup.

Which is why tampons are referred to as "mousies" in my household.
Did you come up with the code name?

Take any broken USB stick and solder a wire between pin 1 and pin 4, better yet, a 5V beeper if the case has enough space. Make a few of these and leave them on your desk. Your colleagues will self regulate themselves.

Well worth checking out and worth the investment IMO.

On a semi related note, how long have tampons had an expiry date on them? I'm sure it hasn't always been the case.

Someone in a Facebook group asked that question. I never noticed (truth be told, never used them ). But considering some female hygiene products have these smell remover pearls, it might be related to the lasting of such chemicals?

Re: Indicators that an organic shop is primarily run by women

Some years ago I was on holiday in Germany. I was seated in a cheap diner in a railway station, when a woman turned off the passageway and walked straight up to me and asked me if I had a tampon for her. Sorry, I said, I don’t have any here. She insisted that she really needed one right now, and I repeated my regret. I felt sorry for her, and she left, quite agitated.

Next day, the man I was visiting and I went for a walk away from town, out in nature. I didn’t know him very well, and was a little taken aback when he, too, suddenly turned and asked me if I had a tampon for him. Errr, no, said I, and anyway, what would you do with it? He looked at me blankly and said: Well, what one usually does with a tampon.

I was more than a little disconcerted until I had the idea that perhaps I was mis-hearing, being that this was German-German not German-as-spoken-in-Switzerland. So I asked him: Could you please spell “tampon”? By that stage he thought I was very weird, but patiently said: “T… E… M… P… O.”

Turns out, it’s a brand-name of paper tissues, that is used generically, like “Hoover” for vacuum cleaner, or “Xerox” for photocopy or, in France, “Kleenex” for paper tissue.

You can imagine how we roared with laughter when I told him what I had thought he (and the woman the previous evening) had said!

Thanks, MusicChick, for the Feminist Bookstore video: that had me chuckling.

Reminded me of the old "lightbulb" joke:
Q: How many radical feminists does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: That's not funny!

Maybe. I'll have a closer look at the ones our guests left behind recently and see if they have the smell remover stuff in them.
It's been a long time since I used any and I'm pretty sure they didn't have a use by date on them back then,

Re: Indicators that an organic shop is primarily run by women

I would say every manufactured product will break down over time. In the case of hygiene products any breakdown of the product before use (even 1 in 10 000 000), can cause health problems--and legal problems for the company. It's a safe cheap way to cover their asses.

You should definitely take them out after a day or two.

Instead of tampons or towels it's a plastic cup that's inserted into the vaginal canal and collects the blood. It's then withdrawn and tipped into the toilet/sink/ bio garden etc etc

I know of a Chinese-run shop in Spain where they have children's toys on the lower two shelves and porn videos on the shelf above that.
You must be this tall to ride...

Hopefully Slammer is reading the manual for his new camera.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_cup

As far as I can tell it is pretty similar to the oil cups used on steam engines and lathes in days of old, but backwards.

... and when you're done adding to your general knowledge about menstrual cups, you can go on to female urinary devices. Now those are two kinds of products I'd think should be grouped together on the same shelf.
