| | | Models wanted [for artists in training - Clothed modeling is okay]
Hello All!
I'm not sure whether this is the right thread, but here goes:
Me - Chris Solarski - and my painting partner - Cornelia Wittwer - are artists in training. Which is why we're looking for willing models - male and female, of all ages - with a minimum of 3 hours spare to sit for a portrait. No preparation or experience necessary; just willingness to sit still for up to 45 minutes at a time. The portrait will be yours to take home, free of charge (although a small contribution towards art materials would be appreciated if the portrait is successful). Our studio is based in Zürich Schwamendingen.
[Edit] > Although attending life drawing sessions is a weekly event for us, the motivation behind this thread is to draw or paint a wide variety of regular people, fully clothed. So, rest assured, you won't be asked to do anything you feel uncomfortable with.
We're particularly interested in painting, so as to bring our skills up to the same level as in drawing.
The most suitable times for sittings are Thursday or Friday, between 10:00 and 16:00. However Saturday or Sunday is also a possibility, but a little more difficult to organise. So please feel particularly free to pass this invitation on to somebody who has a lot of free time! <
Please contact me for further information or visit my and Cornelia's website.
Many thanks!
Chris

So long as I don't have to get all me kit off, I'd love to do it Chris, have wanted one for a long time but it's just finding the right artist to do a good job. I had a portrait done once before but the bloke obviously wasn't paying attention as he painted my eyes the wrong colour.... but I trust you.
For the record, Chris is a very good portrait painter, I would reccomend EF'ers give this a go!

EFers, go for it. Chris's work is impressive and maybe he will get a better response than I did |

Thanks for your responses everyone!

I'll be in touch with everyone by the end of the week. I didn't expect so many responses, so it'll take a little more planning than I expected. Thanks for the support!

Wow! The pictures on your website are beautiful! I'll happily sit as a model although it would need to be weekends though as I'd be coming from Basel.

Thanks again to everyone who's offered to sit for a portrait.
I've just sent out PM's with suggested times and dates however, if I've left somebody out by accident, please contact me. Swiss Cheddar and Rishi, I'll suggest a date as soon as you confirm that you have more time.
Otherwise, everyone please feel free to pass on the invitation to anybody who you think may be interested in sitting for a portrait. Me and Cornelia need all the practise we can get, so young and old are welcome.
Thanks again!

Hi All!
'Just a quick update to my original post, which went up a year ago.
Many thanks to those who sat for their portraits. The experience myself and Cornelia got from the EnglishForum volunteers helped our confidence as artists and significantly developed our painting skills in a very short time.
I'm happy to say that we're now working on our first professional project, which is to illustrate a theatre production of The Lady of the Camellias (made into an opera titled, La Traviata) to be performed at Theatre Rigiblick in September. Myself and Cornelia will be having an exhibition at the same venue to coincide with the show, to which you're all welcome.
For more information you can visit the production website - www.kameliendame.eu - where you can subsrcribe by email to receive news updates and an invitation to the 'private view' once a date is fixed.
Again, many thanks!
Chris

Hi Begga!
Nice to see that you made it over to Zurich. I thought that I recognise your name from somewhere.
Sure, lessons are possible. I currently teach drawing at SAE Institute most Wednesdays but private lessons are possible, which would take place at the Archaeology Institute. You're welcome to send me a PM if interested.
Thanks
Chris
