| | | Nice Girly Chats
Hello everyone,
Great site here. Not much 'nice girly chat' though. Nothing wrong with boys toys of course! But are there any girls out there?
I am new, but I did recently get an email from a woman saying she didn't often post on this site because of the 'testosterone' (those weren't her words, but you know what I mean) flying around.
Boys are welcome too off course (I'm not sexist). You can join in with the nice girly chats, too
So, what about the fashions girls? A bit boyish? Do you enjoy shopping here or do you shop online?
I can't buy clothes for my husband here at ALL! He is six foot six! I have to buy all his clothes from either America or England. It's very annoying! And expensive! In fact, the only thing I can buy is short sleeves shirts. Because they don't require long arms
And what about the customer service eh? Hmmmmm!!
Hope you can be here!

I think that a reasonably large percentage of regular posters here are female, it's just that they (I mean we, I'm one too!) often post about mundane things such as health insurance, where to find swimming pools, etc. etc. etc. Speaking for myself at least, I'm not very good at girly stuff anyway...
If you dig a bit deeper you will find threads on shopping (such as here, here and here) (the first one linked to was started by a confirmed non-female ), and if you dare check out the complaints corner, you'll find that lots of people share your frustrations with customer service in Switzerland...

Hi Laurel,
One of the things I like best about EF is the low quotient of 'girly chatter'... I can go to other sites to find that kind of thing.
But that's just me...
EF stands out by offering a different atmosphere, thanks to the the diverse interests, experiences, and refreshing sense of humor of it's members.
But I've always felt that the welcome mat is out for everyone here - so chat about whatever interests you.
Except self-raising flour.

Hi Heather,
Thanks, I'll check them out.
Great picture. Quite girly actually, though a bit scary too |

(Now, if you want to talk about really important stuff... like, say, dogs... ) | | | | | I'm always keen to talk about dogs but why isn't there a special section here called pets? They seem to just come under the family living, or well, I don't know where exactly.
I think pets deserve their own category here...then all the questions about moving with them, finding a vet etc would be in one place. |

We really could have so many sub-forums that it would be a nightmare to manage and still not have enough boxes into which people can drop their posts.
Use tags. That will help.
And before you try to shoot me down, do consider that I do have two dogs and can see your point....

Hi Laurel,
My name is Stacey, and I am an American ex-pat female. I love girly stuff too (shopping esp jewelry and handbags, make-up..expensive and not-so-expensive, etc.).
As is with you, I tend to buy my clothes while visiting home or online (so expensive here! ) BUT i do love going to vintage shops which sell high end designer goods.
How long have you been in Switzerland?

Hi Laurel,
Welcome! I'm always up for girly chat. | Quote: | | | | | Hello everyone,

Hope you can be here! | | | | | I also love fashion, but I don't really enjoy shopping here (which is probably just as well). All the stuff I like is dreadfully overpriced and I can get it for much less in the US, especially when there are sales. I tend to do most of my clothes shopping online at US sites and from certain ebay sellers. I found a consignment place here that has great stuff (mostly designer), a bit expensive, but still much less than retail.
Customer service here is rather disappointing. They don't seem to want to bother making an effort ;(

Hey nice to hear from you all. Even though this group has been downgraded to 'off-topic'
Latigresse hello! Great to hear from a lover of fashion. Yes, I'm a bit embarassed to admit how much money I've spent on ebay fashion this year. And you can't try it on of course, so usually you waste money. I find the stores a bit hit and miss. And the quality is often a bit shabby. Meant to last for about one month, I think. Unless of course you pay designer prices
Louann-dun, Yes, see what you mean. I thought you mean't you didn't like self-raising flour Yes, I'm usually dabbling with baking powder, or worse baking soda, to try and get my recipe right. Usually, fairly dodgy results.
Hello Cosmic girl, love you picture.
Know what you mean about lots of shoe shops. Funny what you said about : 'how many feet do they have?' Obviously more than us. Have you met those five point reflexology shoes they have yet? Oh my God, it's like walking through heaven. They massage your feet as you walk. Most of my shoes are becoming those now. You can get them online too. Great for slippers.
Polorise hello!
Nice to hear from a boy. But no 'willy waving' here please. This is a willy waving free zone! Yes, we know they're great, but pop them away from now LOL |

Oh yes and meant to reply to your email Cosmic girl. We came here from England and have now lived here 6 years. We started as three, then my son moved back to England to join the army.
But we must live in the tiniest village in the world because there aren't many people here, let alone who speak English. Our teenage son nearly tore his hair out a few times LOL |
