Your favourite words

I have just read a thread where someone had typed one of my favourite words, parsimony. This got me thinking of all the words I really love, some because they feel wonderful to say, some just sound good.

What's your favourite words?

Mine are:

Pyroclastic flow- the cloud of dust and smoke and molten rock blown out by a volcano.

Onomatopoeia- a word that is formed from the sound of the thing it describes (woof or sizzle).

Confabulate - chatting!

Okay you wordsmiths out there.. what's your favourites?

Re: Your favourite words

I wish it were endless vwild... I was the weird kid who asked for a thesaurus for their 12th birthday!

Actually there are 171,476 full entry words in current use, and 47,156 obsolete words. To this may be added around 9,500 derivative words included as subentries in the Oxford English Dictionary...

"Lugubrious" - it just sounds a bit gloomy

"Weekend" isn't bad though
