I was hoping someone could help. See, I recently got an ipod touch for my birthday (all excited by the way), but the real reason I wanted this particular one was to be able to watch some tv sitcoms etc (for example, family guy, simpsons etc). I looked to buy and download episodes from Itunes store, but apparently you have to LIVE in the states to have access to downloading tv shows etc, and the swiss itunes store only has music. I have searched everywhere to buy and download episodes but cannot find a site that you can used from Switzerland! SO does this mean we cannot profit from the full functions of the ipod touch simply because we live in Europe? There is no way to buy and download episodes? Does anyone know of a site to do this on?

I don't know of any legal sites to do this on.

I am aware that you can convert anything you may have downloaded or ripped (DVDs etc) into Ipod compatible format quite easily.

you can purchase moives from the iTunes shop, i have might working with the UK site. there are some BBC programs on there as well.

if you want to download films from the US itunes store you need to register on iTunes with a US credit card

thanks - yeah i saw that you needed a US billing address-credit card etc which I don't have - I just think it a bit unfair that the itunes stores vary so much from country to country so people cannot benefit from the same products. I suppose I should have researched that a bit better BEFORE getting the Ipod, but oh well - guess I'll have to settle for music until the Swiss store gets some movies in !

The alternative is to set up an iTunes account using a gift voucher... perhaps you know someone who will buy it for you from the US and you pay them with paypal for example... Thats what I do
