I used to love this silly (and oft repeated) show.

That's sad...I always associate that show with my mom, she loved it and it helped to foster my love of British comedies as a kid.

I guess he's no longer free.

Or perhaps truly free now. They ran the series a while ago on BBC Prime and watching it again brought out the laughs for me.
R.I.P.

I suppose he's truly free now. R.I.P. Mr. Humphries.

Re: Are you being served? - John Inman passes away.

I saw him on the telly some time ago. He was very bloated and clearly not well.
RIP Mr Inman
Oddly enough, I don't think he did anything of note after AYBS? When I saw him on the box he was being interviewed about an upcoming panto where he was - surprise surprise = the dame

Well, Are You Being Served has been repeated constantly over the last 30 years so I think it is a fitting tribute...

Oh dear gods, it was at the top of the topics page and I didn't even think to check the date. I hadn't even heard when he died, so now I feel doubly terrible!

In any case, I feel a AYBS marathon is in order...
