[Wanted]: Information on procuring a Horse

Hi everyone,

I've been thinking about it for a long time, and was hoping to get some advice on how i might be able to go about procuring a horse, specifically, a high horse. The reason being that, I notice owners of high horses seem to have a je-ne-sais-quoi... i have to say i can't put my finger on it. They have great self-esteem and are able to talk at length on any topic eloquently. Above all, they are always right. It's almost as if, they are self-righteous.

Also! My questions are:

- What breed of horse would u recommend?
- Do I need to take a test/need a permit, and does it vary between Kantons? I hear I need to prove an overbearing sense of self-importance when I register my horse, is that true?
- How to I maintain a high horse? I wouldn't want it to lose height, otherwise I would not be able to look down on other people!

Suggestions appreciated!

gruss, hsiang

Re: [Wanted]: Information on procuring a Horse

Of course owners of high horses can then use them to commute too and from work in an environmentally friendly way without having to worry about breaking the speed limit.

Win, Win situation.

Re: [Wanted]: Information on procuring a Horse

I foresee this thread descending into a veritable gymkhana of high horses and their riders.

I notice that the first contenders representing "Swiss" have already made their way to the paddock.

It is important not to reverse causalities. People are not self-confident or eloquent because of their horses the same way millionnaires are not rich because they own Ferraris and yachts. Do not deceive yourself, Mr Hsiang, and save you the trouble and the costs of daily brushing, stall cleaning and trough filling. Get a poodle or a hamster.

Dear Rusty, without a highhorse one would not be able to look down on others, and would be forced to carry a pedestal wherever they went. And as we know, a good pedestal is very heavy indeed, and very much stationary. how would I go about talking down to a person from one to the next?

I may not be a big man, but I'm afraid I would crush a poodle should I attempt to ride it.

If this is about a Napoleon complex, there are cheaper ways to compensate. Try platform shoes or/and top hats.

Re: [Wanted]: Information on procuring a Horse

Yes I see your predicament Hsiang... The biggest trouble with the keeping of a horse actually is location. For example if you are in Seefeld, Zurich you'll need to be careful of this:

Horse Meat

However, people do say its not size that counts, its what you do with it that matters...

If you try shouting a lot you might find your throat becomes a little horse.

Hsiang, aren't you a bit too big and hairy to be sitting on a horse?

hmm... u'r right, i'll probably need the horse equivalent of a 4 wheel drive

i originally located this post in the jokes/funnies, but the mods moved it to off-topic, and then general off-topic.

perhaps i wasn't facetious enough.

Re: [Wanted]: Information on procuring a Horse

Having had your thread moved around left, right and center, a precious llama to be protected from the hungry hordes and you being hairy and big - methinks Hsaing, it's looking very unlikely that you're ever going to sit on a high horse.. unless, of course, swissotter's got a plan.

(she always has a plan)
