Re: Song of the day

Todays trio...

Ocean Colour Scene - Better Day

...and then the nightmares come, and you get blown away, and up in your room your walls are cold, you find your head is holding out for the welcome of a better day...

Coldplay - Shiver

...so you know how much I need you, but you never even see me, do you...and is this my final chance of getting you..?
On and on, from the moment I wake, to the moment I sleep I'll be there by your side, just you try and stop me, I'll be waiting in line just to see if you can...

Maximo Park - Going Missing

...I still remember how you moved, I taste your scent upon my lips, how it started I will never know but now I reached my limits...

Re: Song of the day

Don't think I'll ever be able to post a better song than this, so consider this a final bow...

(sound is a bit out of sync but it still amazes me...)

Something filled up my heart with nothing, someone told me not to cry.
But now that I’m older, my heart’s colder, and I can see that it’s a lie.

Children wake up, hold your mistake up, before they turn the summer into dust.
If the children don’t grow up, our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up.
We’re just a million little god’s causing rain storms, turning every good thing to rust...I guess we’ll just have to adjust.

With my lightning bolts a-glowing, I can see where I am going to be when the reaper, he reaches and touches my hand...

Re: Song of the day

wow! I can't believe I've been away for so long that I'm now unable to thank you guys for Okkervil River, M Ward, and Bright Eyes. Good call on all of these!

I never liked Arab Strap all that much (there's a limit to the amount of misery even I can take), but Malcolm Middletons new solo album is absolutely amazing. This is off his previous solo album: birdwatching

I take my hat off to you, mate.

I absolutely love this song, one of those true 'sends a shiver down your spine' songs. This is as close to perfect you can get I think - lyrics, music, build up, rhythm, just the whole feeling of the song.

Arcade Fire remain one of those bands I wanna see most (along with the Pixies, Radiohead and Teenage Fanclub), so if anyone fancies seeing them sometime/notices them on - give me a shout!!

My offering for today...

Been listening to The Bends alot lately and I so love this tune. Saw Drugstore do a cover of this at Reading '96 and it was ace!

This has got to be Song of the Day.

A superb cover of that famous Mariah Carey song "Ken Lee"

Superb!

Here's something different, I guess you could call them:
