Funny! probably safer for my daughter- stuck on a school trip to Paris she's had enough of frenzied activity and no sleep burn-out!

I feel for her!

Re: Song of the day

From the days when Kenny Rogers was ... well, ... . And if just hearing the words "Kenny" and "Rogers" juxtaposed makes you want to run screaming in any direction, as long as its away, just give this song ten seconds trial, at least.

Funny to see that Kenny singing "Lady" gets nearly 10 times the hits on YouTube that "Just Dropped In" has garnered.

This song is the epitome of 60s psychedelic cool, IMHO.

How's the Kenny song, Rod? You haven't thought much of my last few offerings.

I know that it's verging on pop, but I always had a soft spot for the Kula Shaker chaps.

Re: Song of the day

I'm sorry most of you won't understand the words of this song... One of the best italian songs, by my favorite italian author: Franco Battiato. (The video doesn't do justice to the song, though).
Today I've been listening to it again and again, I'd like to share it with you.

Re: Song of the day

Pretty good homemade video to go with a class tune. Funky guitar riffs and some of the best lyrics of the 90's

...you never loved your frozen freight, perishables and bloodless meat, your rolling snowball soul of sleet, you'll never win...

I'm pretty sure I'll never get tired of Gomez, can listen to their albums back to back all day long

First band I ever saw live, if I remember correctly in the Doncaster Dome - despite the venue being more like the Brittas Empire sports centre they did indeed rock...not so much anymore

I believe that period ended when this period started - tasty stuff mind, but sometimes people will do anything for money!

And my chilled out choice for today is..

This is the original, but the Allman brothers band did a great version too.

Re: Song of the day

Chilled out, you say? OK, here's another song that won't make high rotation in the Deep Purple household. For someone who doesn't do country (or western ), I seem to have let a few country artists through recently ...

I like the fact that Irving Berlin wrote this song the year my father was born, but (like him) it's still going strong 84 years later.

Willie Nelson's take on Blue Skies. Mellow +++

Quite acceptable to me I can do mellow.

This is the new 7" vinyl single, 'Howl' from Bat for Lashes. It was recorded live at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, and I was there
