| | | I left my iphone on an SBB train: Where is it now?
I absent-mindedly left my iphone 3G on the S2 when getting off for a hike at Erstfeld on Sunday. It was pass-code locked (10x false delete option activated) and now the IMEI is blocked. So it is a brick.
I've submitted an SBB loss report, but so far no joy. So where do you think my iphone is? Please choose from the poll above.

I have found the SBB online system somewhat lacking. I have, however, always got my lost stuff back by going in person to the lost property at each end of the Sx line.
Don't wait to hear from them - go and see if they have it.

Good luck!

A friend of mine lost his phone on the train (drunk after the street parade) and was reunited with his phone 2 weeks back. It took some time to track him down as his SIM card was registered outside Switzerland to his company. But they did. Real impressive the way they tracked him down. Just make a report and hopefully it'll turn up like what happened here. |

Phone bought and SIMmed through Swisscom, so tracking shouldn't be too hard (if it gets handed in).
I realise that non-revenue functions of such organisations can grind slowly, so I'll give it a few weeks yet before I totally extinguish all hope. I give it a week before I head down in person to speak to the SBB.

I am optimistic for you. Two of my office colleagues have left blackberries on trains in the last few months and have got them back intact.

But if they're that entrepreneurial then good luck to them!

I don't see any advantage hanging around waiting for them to contact you; go to the lost and found office / online and describe the time, place and direction of travel when you think you lost the phone. If it falls within the 'time window' and assuming it's been handed in, you should get it back pronto. You did try calling it?

(its the only free option now..reporting in person costs money). I described the phone down to Serial number and IMEI number.
I am a bit disappointed by the SBB, as I "coincidentally" got a phone call from some keyfinder type company trying to sell me something. I was also thinking of filling out the form at www.fundbuero.ch, but they have no Data Disclosure declaration visible on their home page.
Yep, tried calling it after 20 min, it went to combox. Tried ringing after 3 hours, it was turned/off out of range.
