Re: Movie recommendations

One of the more decent ones I've seen recently, starring power houses Denzel Washington and John Travolta.

Re: Movie recommendations

I watched 'The Informant!' with Matt Damon at the weekend.
Very funny film, directed by Steven Soderbergh which means there was a good soundtrack too.

Recommended.

Re: Movie recommendations

If people here like horror movies and are not put off by the subject matter, this is a very chilling movie set during New Year's Eve holiday. It's been available on Region 2 before it came out on a Region 1 DVD, so you should be able to buy it or rent it from the Swiss equivalent of NetFlix:

Re: Movie recommendations

Since this is a Swiss forum, are there any Swiss films that anyone would like to recommend, or at least films in German, French, or Italian? (I doubt there are many Romansch films, but if there are does anybody know about them?)

Re: Movie recommendations

Woody Allen's 'Whatever Works' is quite good. The beginning feels rather contrived but once it settles in, the pace trots along well. Larry David is hilarious as the cranky 'genius'.

Re: Movie recommendations

Ha a busy weekend last week watching movies:

Outlander: Starring Jesus vs. Aliens and Vikings. Not as good as it sounds.

The Hangover: Great comedy to watch with the guys

King of Kong A Fist Full of Quarters: Surprisingly good documentary about beating the Donkey Kong high score.

Tokyo Gore Police: Japansploitation movie with more gushing blook than I have ever seen. Not as bad as I was hoping.

Black Sheep: Laugh out loud funny, sheeploitation movie.

The Prestige: Very good Christopher Nolan movie with Batman and Wolverine.

Re: Movie recommendations

Swiss films question - I saw "Gulias verschwinden" at the cinema the other night, I enjoyed it, it is very Zurich, not just because it was flimed there.

Also watched the Roman Polanski documentary "Most Wanted" very interesting and you see there is a whole other crazy dimension to that case.
