Re: I'm grateful for...

U peeps prolly read this somewhere already...but to those who has not...

Please take your time and enjoy ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A friend of mine opened his wife's drawer and picked up a silk paper wrapped package:
'This, - he said - isn't any ordinary package.'
He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box.
'She got this the first time we went to New York , 8 or 9 years ago. She has never put it on , was saving it for a special occasion.
Well, I guess this is it.
He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothing he was taking to the funeral house, his wife had just died.
He turned to me and said:
'Never save something for a special occasion.
Every day in your life is a special occasion'..
I still think those words changed my life.
Now I read more and clean less.
I sit on the porch without worrying about anything.
I spend more time with my family, and less at work.
I understood that life should be a source of experience to be lived up to, not survived through.=2 0
I no longer keep anything.
I use crystal glasses every day...
I'll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket, if I feel like it.
I don't save my special perfume for special occasions, I use it whenever I want to.
The words 'Someday...' and ' One Day...' are fading away from my dictionary.
;
If it's worth seeing, listening or doing, I want to see, listen or do it now....
I don't know what my friend's wife would have done if she knew she wouldn't be there the next morning, this nobody can tell.
I think she might have called her relatives and closest friends.
She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels.
I'd like to think she would go ou t for Chinese, her favourite food.
It's these small things that I would regret not doing, if I knew my time had come..
Each day, each hour, each minute, is special.
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one...
If you got this, it's because someone cares for you and because, probably, there's someone you care about.
If you're too busy to share this with other people and you say to yourself that you will send it 'One of these days' , remember that 'One day' is far away... or might never come.....
No matter if you're superstitious or not, spend some time reading it.
It holds useful messages for the soul.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Love,

Fiona

Re: I'm grateful for...

Bertrand: you know what they say, "Sex is like air, it's only important if you're not getting any", but I hear you loud and clear and I understand those feelings.

But you seem like a decent guy, it's only a question of time when things finally go the right way for you, be it love and relationship or something else.

I was just curious, what's this "dating" forum you all are talking about

Dear Bertrand,

You are most most wlecome....

the first step to overcome depression/failure/any other negative feelings or thoughts is to actually RECOGNISE it...

So you are taking small and slow steps...it's call taking baby steps....my ex boss used to tell me this... "It is okay that you are slow, yes it's daunting to be slower than your peers, but what's important is the lessons learnt along the way is well remembered and learned" There is not point to be speedy and quick but you don't learn, you don't feel the process, you don't truly experience the whole epic drama.

I say that because....
we need to experience heartbreak in order to know how being in love is, we need to be reprimanded to making a mistake, in order to know what we did was wrong and not to repeat the same mistake again.
We need to have some cuts and brusies in order to know....in future, we be more cautious with "sharp edges" in life...

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger my dear...
keep telling yourself that

i will try to find this really really meaninful and touching e-mail i received years back from a long time guest of mine and i will share it with ya...

Hearts,

Fiona

Why God allows pain... we need to understand...

Dear Sunshiners

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber
shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.

"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed.
"Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer.
"That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not
go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS !!!!!!!

Heartsssss,

Fiona

Twinkies & Rootbeer

Little messages like this puts a nice smile on my otherwise boring face ><

I hope this puts a smile on yours too....

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of Root Beer and he started his journey.

The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the man looked hungry, so he offered him a Twinkie.

The man gratefully accepted it and smiled at boy. His smile was so pleasant that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a root beer.
Again, the man smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.
As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the man, and gave him a hug. The man gave him his biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy?

"He replied, "I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? God's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"

Meanwhile, the elderly man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home. His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked," Dad, what did you do today that made you so happy?"
He replied, "I ate Twinkies in the park with God." However, before his son responded, he added," You know, he's much younger than I expected."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally!

~author unknown~

Share this to people who have touched your life in a special way. Let them know how important they are. Have lunch with God!

And .......Thanks for touching my life! Thanks for dropping by!

Hearts,

Fiona

Are we being thankful in our life or are we taking things for granted?

Are we being thankful in our life or take things for granted?

I AM THANKFUL:

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S EGGS N BACON TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

Hearts,

Fiona

Today, God wants me to know....

On this day of your life, Fiona, we believe God wants you to know ... that every moment is an opportunity for you to be happy.
You know how sometimes it seems that life is just throwing you one curved ball after another? Well, guess what, - you have a great way to respond! - you can use every opportunity, every single one, to be happy. Don't just take a shower - feel into and receive pleasure from the water on your skin. Don't just walk on the street - enjoy the fragrances of the trees and the flowers on your way. Don't just drive your car - sing karaoke to your favorite radio station.

Indeed, i woke up feeling like a freshly bloomed flower...
my hair was extra tamed, despite the small zit on me face, it didn't bother me at all...
for i've come to learned to focus on things that i can change, like the way i RESPOND to "challenges"....i choose to to NOT BE upset.

i choose to be HAPPY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and i am grateful for:
- plastic handgloves, before, i refuseddddd to use them when i'm doing my chores as i find it a hassle, but someone convinced me otherwise and TODAY i realised i got more tasks ticked off my list working with my yellow gloves as it's less drying on my hands when i keep rinsing them.
it does make a difference.
- my wi-fi thing fixed...i used 'thing' because i don't know what was done to it but my house now looks much neater without the wires and cables running through my living room ><
ANDDDDDD!!! i can go online in my beddy...in my bath tub (okay...maybe not such a good idea>< ), while i'm doing my "detox" business... ><
everywhere in my house!!!!
truly, the creation of technology is amazingfarkingrace
BLISS
all this was made possible by my dearestttt "victim"
***
one of the major reason i am happy was because of your existence.
You know who u are...
*mWah*
OK let's see...
I'm grateful for my baby inside me trampling on my bladder and punching my kidneys; and the constant back ache.
It means he's healthy and strong.
I'm grateful for having a blocked, snotty nose, sore throat and thumping headache.
It means I get to stay home from work in bed, sleep and rest for my back.
I'm grateful for the crappy, cold, wet, grey weather outside.
It means I don't have to feel guilty about staying inside and being lazy for a day.
