I don't know if you should jump the gun so easily until you get MarcoPolo's side of the story. I also write and get publish under various names, and I sometimes ghost write for others. It's not uncommon.

There's a good chance you are right, but fairer still would be to send him a PM rather than rally up an online lynch mob.
