A dumber man will try and find as many willing partners as possibly in the "hope" that one of his offspring will end up growing old enough to have children of their own. Kind of like a scatter bomb which is thrown in the enemies general direction, hoping it'll take care of at least one or two of them.

And on the other side of the fence, a smarter man will probably want to devote more effort into ensuring the relationship is a good one, being with the child and taking care of them (providing a good home that keeps the child safe), thus ensuring they survive to have children of their own. i.e. a smart bomb which is targeted for "one hit-one kill" missions.

If my IQ is lower are my expectations in general lower too? Linked to my ability/willingness to work on something long term?

I guess it's linked to the concept of attractiveness and higher IQ's might have a broader concept of attractiveness, as the relationship matures other development oriented attractiveness facets come more and more into play, rather than declining elements like physicality over time, which may be initially overvalued/overweighted.

Nah, the intelligent guys make better choices from the start... I know some very smart guys who cheat though, so maybe the getting caught bit is relevant. I didn't read how he got his numbers, could be that the dumb guys perceive cheating as something to brag about?

Binet himself warned against the use of IQ for studies like this:

But of course there are many, many scientists who do not understand these simple facts and think IQ is a be-all measure of intelligence or social worth.

I personally have never taken an IQ test, but I have a feeling I wouldn't do so well in one. Whenever I'm shown logic questions, I tend to try and find more "obscure" answers than the ones that I should be giving.
