Gambia is definitely good, but is there any appetite for...... Tehran?
It would be a lot more scenic than sub Saharan Africa, more souvenir visa stamps and the food along the way will be divine. Its also a lot safer.
3,800 km from CH to Van, Turkey (close to border with Iran) which equals 47 hours non-stop driving. And then another day or so to Tehran, and I would even consider bringing the car back because I plan to go carpet shopping |

I have a friend who drove from Northern Germany to India through Iran and really enjoyed it. Only downside was that their luggage (the part with the western female clothes) got stolen... but this can happen anywhere.

I am probably going to be driving to Turkey early this summer. We'll see. It should cost about the same as flying and be alot more interesting and once I get there I won't need to rent a car.

Have you ever thought about doing the trip with a boat? There could be much higher profit made, you also could start a busines there with charter boats.
I am over boats now because i become see sick eaven i am having a bath. but i would participate in a submarine because it does not rock so much and i gues the demand for submarine charter in west africa is very hight.

I love Cuba and all, but I'm not too fond of orange jumpsuits. |
