Ok apparently as this thread says, there are some psycho stories in pm. I know name and shame will probably be against the rules but can we have a bit of fun by sharing some stories? Not the actual pms mind you just the main points

I have had reciprocal bad reps where people have had a hard time accepting their new found red blobbies. It's gotten heated at times. Also I've found if you call someone racist they'll suffer a PM meltdown.

I had an abusive phone call from a member because I dared to sell somthing before he could find time to see it.

Well only that person who threaten to "not be nice" to me if I ever groaned at him again. I understand people that ask why they got groaned but to threaten...I mean WTF?
Of course I just took this lunatic to be exactly that...a psycho probably with a ver small .....brain

I receive unsolicited PMs from time to time - most of them, I have to say, quite lovely - but with the occasional moanfest regarding a groan or red smartie or somesuch. These, I ignore. I'm just surprised people care enough to send them.

I recently received threats of physical violence, which gave me a chuckle. Apparently he was going to watch the Events threads to see where I'd be, so he could come and 'show me some respect'.

I'm still waiting...

Some of the weirdest PMs I sent out and received were "really off topic" and in retrospect a clear sign of how routine-blind and into this forum thing some of us including me are...

From the few really surprising things, I got a rather harsh PM calling me some things I will not repeat here (based on my nationality) from some Swiss non-regular user who was not happy with my contributions on some language discussions... I did not even critizise Swiss German in any way, but only pointed out that every day German terms in my eyes do not qualifiy as "Swiss German expression of the day"... so I was surprised to get so an emotional response for something completely harmless. So yes, there are some (few) weirdos around. But given the success of this site, I think this is normal. There are some weirdos in a Tram or shopping center as well, do as you would offline and ignore them.

P.S:
And on another note: I sold and bought quite some things over the years from and to other EF users and never had a single problem, but met honest and nice people. I can highly recommend it.

ahhhhh yes, the good ole tit-for-tat bad repping. My only red blob on here was due to that. I neg repped that person over a racist joke and she decided to bad rep me back over a post on bloody dog poop. Some people...

huh, guess I'm very lucky.
Don't recall any psycho PMs and have giving my number maybe too freely sometimes to newbies coming to social events.
Never had any problems what so ever.

I didn't realise you couldn't give neg rep if you were red yourself. Having said that, I am neither in the red, or intend to hand any out in the near future anyway. I never get interesting PMs, threatening or otherwise. They're mainly from peeps seeking info about living in Fribourg.
