visa for turkey : info required

Hi,

I am a non-EU (Indian) B permit holder living in Switzerland. I would like to visit as a tourist.

Can anyone let me know the visa requirement for Turkey and other details ?

Thanks,
Kashif

Re: visa for turkey : info required

check out the Turkish government or whatever website... We went last year from Ch and thought we had to pay something previously when we entered at the airport, bit nothing was mentionned by Travel agent - but it wouldn't be as Swiss people do not pay anything - UK people do!!!, we checked out the Turkish government or tourist website or something (Google it) and found that we had to pay an entry fee, think it was 15 euros per person as we are UK (not EU) citizens, just had to pay it on arrival at the airport - special desks set up, sorry to go on but just check the website for all travel info...

Re: visa for turkey : info required

don' t worry;
getting the visa is very easy!
when you arrive in Turkey (most people arrive at Istanbul), just next to the passport control queues is a small till where you can buy the stamp which is attached to your passport. Then move straight to the passport queue. It should be EUR 15 pp.

This is only for people who have EU, US, AU, NZ and some other passports. Otherwise you really have to apply for a visa and cannot buy it at the passport control.

No, new zealanders don't have to buy this visa, no visa is required. Not sure whether the rest of what you wrote is true or not,
cheers

Re: visa for turkey : info required

I just obtained the Turkish tourist visa couple of weeks back. You have to goto the Turkish consulate in Zurich (Weinbergstrasse 65, 8006 Zurich) between 11 am and 1 pm (the earlier the better).

Take along with you 70 CHF for the single entry tourist visa, flight ticket printouts, hotel accommodation print outs, bank statement for the past 1 month, copy of L/B permit, passport, 2 passport sized photographs and a copy of your employment contract in Switzerland.

They will put you in the queue and ask you to wait in a small room on the ground floor. As soon as your turn comes, you will have to go to the 1st floor where you will be asked to fill out a form in German (you can ask for help in filling up), then maybe asked a couple of questions and then given the Turkish single entry tourist visa on the spot. They will paste the visa page in your passport and return the same to you immediately.

As I mentioned above, its better if you go 10/15 minutes before 11 am so that you will be the 1st one in the queue. Also if possible try to go on any weekday from Monday to Thursday.

Do your studies involve research at all?

Sorry to be blunt, but as you can see even from the small sample above, you will only find what you can be sure is the correct answer to your query by contacting the relevant authorities or reading their website(s).

Hint: As a Nigerian passport holder (presumably), you will need to obtain a Schengen visa before entering the Schengen Area (which includes Switzerland). You could also ask your brother to help with research. I could also be of assistance to you, if you need someone to help you transfer $420 million left by your late uncle.

Of course you need a visa. Contact the Swiss embassy/consulate in Turkey to find out exactly what you need to do. I can pretty much guarantee you won't get a visa in time for the Christmas/New Year hols though as you've left it far too late to apply for that period.

"The visa application can be submitted at the earliest 3 months and at the latest 15 days before the scheduled journey."

https://www.eda.admin.ch/countries/t...ency/visa.html

Note that being a student in Turkey means you should be able to apply for a visa from there, otherwise you'll need to go back to Nigeria to apply there as it's your home country.

Re: visa for turkey : info required

Information from Aer Lingus

Passengers travelling to Turkey are required to be in possession of a visa. From 01 January 2015 passengers will no longer be able to obtain this visa on arrival in Turkey and will be required to apply online at www.evisa.gov.tr at least 24 hours prior to their flight. Ordinary passport holders can obtain three-month multiple entry e-Visas. Passengers should note that passports should be valid for at least six months longer than the expiry date of the requested visa. Failure to be in possession of the required visa at check-in will result in refusal of carriage.

Re: visa for turkey : info required

I need to visit Turkey, but I might not have a passport to use.

Does anyone know if it is possible to enter/exit the country with only using a Swiss ID card?

Re: visa for turkey : info required

If you're a Swiss citizen - not resident - yes.

http://www.mfa.gov.tr/countries-whos...al-id_s.en.mfa

If not, you need a visa anyway so would need a passport I think.

"Canada: Ordinary and official passport holders are required to have visa to enter Turkey. Ordinary passport holders can obtain three-month multiple entry e-Visas via the website www.evisa.gov.tr"

I didn't think that turkeys needed visas ...... at least for Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving.

Thanks (I guess I should have tried googling it myself first).

I was just concerned because last time I visited I received an entrance and exit stamp on my Swiss Passport---And since they can't stamp and ID card, I was a bit concerned.
