My first ever visit to the USA was to LA back in 1986. It scared the living daylights out of me, this sprawling monster with urban tentacles. But after a few more trips, it started growing on me and I started relishing swapping lanes on the 405 and headed south down to Long Beach. It's a nice part of the world, I need a little more nature, culture and the knowledge that my property isn't going to be halved when the earth shakes though.

If you like to be stuck on the freeway for hours on the way to work and home then maybe it's a great city. I prefer Sacramento with less people and crime and many more trees.
