Re: Ashes 2 Ashes [TV series]

I watched the first episode of the third series. It was the only episode I'd seen, until I watch the last episode last night, which, I agree was brilliant. And so sad! When the serieses are repeated, I'll watch them all.

It reminds me of the film,"The Others", in that you watch it once, not knowing what's going on, and then you watch it again, with the knowledge, and it becomes like a new, as good, story!

Yeah, a brilliant show. You can have a look to Life on Mars too (talking about the BBC version, because the US made they own version which is, of course, very bad...)

Re: Ashes 2 Ashes [TV series]

I haven't seen last night's episode yet (no spoilers please!) but must admit I was getting increasingly annoyed with this series. It's all about posturing and nothing actually happening.

By chance I caught a snatch of Episode 1 on television last night and Gene Hunt was suddenly so much more real and angry and powerful than in this last series. He has become, I'm afraid, little more than a parody of himself (admittedly a parody of a 70s cop, but that's another story).

Anyway, I shall look forward to watching it in the next day.

Re: Ashes 2 Ashes [TV series]

Life on Mars was much better perhaps because it was darker

Last night I thought the ending to A2A was clever - today it falls into the lame category

Re: Ashes 2 Ashes [TV series]

Well, saw the final episode last night.

All in all, pretty good (although I could imagine the writers sitting round a table working out how to get out of the various plots they'd put together and tie it all up neatly without leaving too many loose ends).

The very, very final scene was great. "A word in your shell-like." Excellent.

The only question remains, when do we get to see Keeley Hawes again!
