I have a brilliant flat in Zurich and don't want to complete give it up. It is so cheap that I can afford just to visit a few times a year. Also, it is great for friends who visit etc.

I will have to de-register when I leave in August because I would have spent my 6months max. visitor stay in Switzerland this year...

Is it true that deregistering is just for tax purposes? Do they send a notice to your address to inform anyone?
