| Hi all,
i'm a new member of this forum, and is very helpful with a lot of info about moving in Switzerland.
I'm 34 years old, not married, and i'm thinking to move in Zurich, after making an interview with a company in Josepstrasse; i was searching in the forum info about where to live.
Basically, i would like to have a brief description of some kreis, or to have suggestion from some of you about any neighborhood safe and nice.
I saw some apartments on the internet, located in the north part of the town; or is better to live close to the lake?
Thank you for your help

Your decision will depend largely on what sort of person you are, not which area is "cooler".
Personally, I also moved here as a single 34yr old. I live in Wipkingen (Kreis 10) and love it.
It's just out of the city, but still close. The Limmat runs along there which is PERFECT for summer.
....... OK, so there's the odd prostitute strutting her stuff on Sihlstrasse of an evening, but it's also close to the Viadukt markets, and Escherwyss platz clubs and pubs at Hardbrücke.
If you are more of a quiet person, I'd look at area's like Albisrieden (Kreis 9), or head south along the Zurich lake.
Other than this, price will dictate everything.
Expect rental starting prices in the city to kick off around 2,000chf/month.
Outside the city the prices will either fall, or you just get better value for your money.
"Safe area's" can be found almost anywhere between Germany, Austria, Italy, and France. (Kreis 4 is perhaps the one to stay clear of)
