The situation is :

We have cleaned our apartment very good but it was two and half months ago. From then we evacuated the apartment completely but not handed-over yet. End of the month we have to hand-over our apartment as we will finish our 3months notice period.

In the first week of September we have called the agency and asked them to go and visit the apartment whenever they want as I have given the apartment key to the guy(Concierge?) who looks after the apartment building. On the phone, the agency person told me that she will have a look and if there is anything big then she would send me a letter which i did not receive till today. Should I clarify about this on phone or written?

I called this week regarding the handing-over appointment for which she told that it is possible only on the last date or else one week before and no other option. In the contract it is mentioned that if we do not hand-over the apartment before 1200hrs (noon) of the last date of the month then we will lose all the rights of the apartment. This is not so clear for me what it actually means :-((((

Now my questions are:

1. Should I call her to know about her opinion/decision about the apartment status? I mean is it valid enough to just ask her on phone or else its better to ask a written confirmation?

2. Is it better to fix an appointment(handing-over) one week before the last date or else it is still ok to give it on the last date at 10h00?

3. I have a private insurance. What will happen if the agency tells me that i have to change this and that on the last date when i hand-over? Will the insurance company will agree to pay or is there something to be careful about the time line?

I would really appreciate and be thankful for all your advises / suggestions / tips and help on this matter and also all the other things to be careful on handing-over the appartment. Please bear with me for writing too big :-(((

But my questions are never answered anywhere in the housing-in-general Forum as far as I explored it :-((

It's better to get an appointment a week before so that if something needs to be fixed or cleaned you can get it done before the day you need to give the keys back.

If you require the title changing, reporting the post (ikon top right) and saying exactly what you want altered, is the best way. Mods do change things for clarity, but if we don't know exactly what you want we are wasting our time and yours.

I don't thiink your questions are easy to answer. Should you do this or that? - it is up to you to weigh up the two possibilites.
Written comments from the agent would be better than verbal from your point of view - especially if you are not fluent in the language.
Only the insurance company can tell you what they would do in any particular set of circumstances.
'Handing voer' a week early would give you time to have things sorted out if there were things which needed changing - but you know that, so why the question?
