Re: any recommendations on cleaner prior to apt handover?

I have the same question. I don't need a guarantee (Niederhasli) but just someone who is very detailed in cleaning. I also know of some cleaning agencies who claim they are 'affordable' but I contacted them and I got a ridiculous quote for a small flat, so only looking for self employed cleaners.

Thanks

Can you give me an idea about the estimate and size apt that you thought was too high? I really have lnot much perspective on what and how much is needed for inspection...

Check the very bottom of this page for more thread options or alternatively do a search. There have been many offering their services for apartment cleaning.

Good luck

I have always went with the company which the landlord recommends, normally more expensive but they know whats required and make sure that there are no last minute cleaning jobs to be done

Well, I don't have any accumulated dirt, and frankly let's face it...unless you haven't cleaned your home for 12 months it's not rocket science. I asked for a quote for something which would have taken about 4 hours (I didn't want the whole flat cleaned, just a small kitchen, a tiny bathroom and 4 windows, and I got quoted 900 CHF. Even when you factor an hour of commuting time in, I don't think 180 chf per hour for cleaning is fair, when a self employed cleaner will charge a maximum of 35. And apparently, this is one of the cheapest companies around

But there is no obligation to get a company to clean your apartment, no, unless there is so much accumulated dirt that you need special industrial cleaning methods.

I was quoted CHF800 for my 126sqm apartment, in Basel. That's for 2 people / 8 hours.
The company is the same company the agency uses, but I was thinking to let the agency deal with it, simply because I don't want the aggro of having to call the cleaners back in (key collection etc) if there's an issue with the cleaning.

Or will the agency just look at the receipt and accept it's clean as it's their recommended cleaners? Or do they accept the apartment back even if it needs a bit more effort from the cleaner under the guarantee?
Any ideas?

As far as I know, it's not absolutely essential for it to be cleaned professionally or to have a guarantee. It just needs to be cleaned up to standards!

Re: any recommendations on cleaner prior to apt handover?

I have a small company in Basel, EasyClean, have had no problems with final cleaning, all have gotten there full deposit back. Fully insured etc. References available, last clean was end of November, bengt@waehlby.com . Pm me if you are interested, more references are no problem. We would need to look at the apartment and am sure we could do it for less.

Regards.

Karl
