Home Security/Alarm Company Recommendation

We had a break-in on Monday evening and have decided to look into beefing up the security around our flat. Does anyone have experience or recommendation on any companies specialize in setting up an security / alarm system?

I apologize if my message seems a bit abrupt... I think I am still shaking from the after-shock...

Thanks in advance.

Re: Home Security/Alarm Company Recommendation

First, sorry to hear about your break-in.

We looked at the market about 2 years ago before going with Protectas, very happy with them. Assume they are available in your area. When looking at the alternatives, they all operate a bit differently, so best to have a consulation or two with a number of them before deciding. And perhaps a trial period as well.

You seem to be in an apartment, which may require a whole different set up. If you are renting, presumably, there is some responsibility of the building owner with respect to access to the building and common areas, this should be explored first. If you own, there is presumably a building organisation that would also handle this. If you need something specific for your apt. after this, and are renting, still likely need to go through the apt. managment company for installation permission and the like.

The police may also be able to give you some advice as well, depending on the break-in. If by door or window, you may want to see about getting re-inforced restraints, etc.. also to be discussed with the apt. managers.

Re: Home Security/Alarm Company Recommendation

wouldnt bother with an alarm.. you need to identify the weak spots ( which you have/had) and fix them. its all about making it a bit hard for them so they pick an easier target.

good door and good tight fitting locks, for french doors etc a trelli door is the easist solution
