Cleaning blocks inside wash basin

Hi
Its great if anybody can suggest any fruitful method of cleaning blocks in the wash basin pipe. I think some dirt has accumulated inside the pipe making the water movement very slow. I already used some liquid from Coop, but it did not help much.
I know calling a plumber would be the last option that I could have done, so before that I thought , I would ask in this forum if anyboby else have already felt this problem, and any other solution for this.
Thanks
Anuradha

Re: Cleaning blocks inside wash basin

I bought some drain blocker from the coop but it is not very effective so I bought one over from the UK next time I was back there and it cleared it no problem.

Try getting one from the UK/France/Germany.

Re: Cleaning blocks inside wash basin

Okay, a simple solution is to pour down the plughole a good quantity of Bicarbonate of Soda (Natron) then pour down about half a cup of strong vinegar (it will bubble as it eats it`s way thru the muck) A few hours later pour down a kettle of boiling water - to wash out the loosened muck.

If the water is still slow in going down, use a plunger, but block the overflow pipe to create a good vacuum.

If you don`t block the overflow you could get a blast of gooo in the face!

Hi everybody
Thanks for all your valuable inputs...
I was little bit upset after trying everything suggested in everyway...
The problem now stand solved with the help of a snake nail that I bought from Coop...
I would suggest others who face same problem to use this bend wire...
It works like miracle ...
