Does anyone know Lausanne? I started looking for an apartment there and was wondering about nice neighborhoods? Care to share your thoughts?

The rental market is so tight in Lausanne that you really can't be picky about neighborhood under around 2500 CHF a month. For normal rentals at normal prices you really have to take what you can get or spend several months looking.

That said, it depends on what you are looking for. Quiet? Green? Nightlife? Students? View?

I like peace and quiet and really liked my place in Montchoisi, which was also close to the train station and walking distance from town but still nice and green and reasonably quiet.

If you have kids: We live in Cheseaux, really nice, playgrounds etc. and only 18min by train to Flon!
