| Hi Friends,
Recently I moved to a new apartment in Zürich, Schmiede Wiedikon. As I'm new to this place I don't prefer this locality after my stay of 2 weeks.... I don't have any agreement with my housing agency for the minimum stay in current apartment. So can anyone please help me to clarify if I can move to some other apartment by providing the specified notice period? Will it have some bad impression at Local resgistration office?
Thanks a ton for help... | |

You're not in Prison mate...... you can move, but yes, there are things you should be aware of.
a)* each contract is different, so it's important to note what the minimum time frame is to stay there, and what (if any) consequenses there may be.
b) find somewhere you do like to move to first...... it's not as easy as you think, so perhaps where you are right now isn't so bad.
c) save up - moving here is expensive and you should budget for an 'overlap' in rent costs.
CLEANING costs are high, as are the expectations of what is clean.
* Just elaborating on point a)
It is likely that the worst thing that can happen to you is that there might be a 3 month minimum that you will have to 'pay' but not necessarily mean you have to stay there.
Within a certain time frame, many contracts will state that you are responsible for finding the replacement tennant.
Advertise here, and on 'homegate' for that..... rental demand is high, so it shouldn't be too hard.
But now....... go and read your contract, and speak to the landlord.
